Notes on Mileage Accrual
- Status Mileage:
Refers to the number of kilometers you accrue when taking a flight that is operated by a Star member carrier and bears the code of that carrier. The mileage counts towards your status in the program.
- Status Flight Segments:
Refers to the number of flight segments you accrue when taking a CA-operated and CA-coded flight (those segments where mileage accrual is allowed). The number of flight segments counts towards your status in the program.
- Mileage Validity:
Mileage is valid until the end of the third calendar year from the year the mileage was accrued (valid for at most 36 months). Mileage should be redeemed for awards within its validity period, otherwise it will be lost. Example: the mileage you have accrued in 2007 will be valid until December 31, 2009, and it should be redeemed before that date.
- Mileage Retro-Crediting:
If mileage is not credited to your account two weeks after you travel, you can contact our member services hotline or any of Air China’s ticketing offices to have your mileage retro-credited to your account. For retro-crediting, you need to provide the photocopies of your ticket, the original boarding pass and your card number. Retro-crediting is allowed within 6 months after you travel. If mileage is missed after you use the services of a Non-Airline partner, please contact that partner directly for retro-crediting.
