Notes on Mileage Redemption
General
- 20,000 kilometers or 4 flight segments qualify a member for the first award for an award ticket, award upgrades or merchandise in the shopping city.
- Mileage used to request an award must come from one account.
- Mileage can be used to request an award for you or for another person.
- The member will be responsible for any taxes and fees associated with the award.
- A reservation must be made for an award ticket (unless the award is requested online). The ticket must be issued within 72 hours of making the reservation. You can request your award ticket by 14 days of the flight.
- You can request award tickets or award upgrades by calling our member service hotline or contacting any of Air China’s local sales offices. If you would like an award ticket on a partner carrier, you need to contact an Air China’s local sales office. You would need to identify yourself with your PhoenixMiles card, account password, and valid ID card. If you apply for an award ticket or award class upgrade for someone else, you will need to produce the ID card of the passenger.
- The award ticket must be for flights operated by Air China or any of the partner carriers and you must confirm your route, flight number, date of departure and class of service.
- The number of award tickets issued for each flight is limited, and there are blackout dates. To find out the blackout dates, please contact any AIR CHINA local sales office.
- An award ticket is valid for one year. Within the validity period, the date and flight can be changed, however, a fee of RMB 100 (or equivalent foreign currency) for a domestic ticket and RMB 300 (or equivalent foreign currency) for an international ticket will be charged for every change.
- The passenger name cannot be changed on an award ticket and the ticket cannot be endorsed or returned. If the ticket is lost, it cannot be reissued. Other terms of carriage apply.
- The standards for mileage on awards for children and infants are the same as those for adults.
- If the holder of an award ticket is forced to change a flight due to the fault of the airlines, you may contact an Air China representative and handle the matter according to Air China rules concerning special conditions.
